Upcoming Podcasts

We have five upcoming podcasts we are excited about, and we hope you will be too!

Podcast 1: Catching Up With An Epically Successful Applicant

"Megan" applied last year in the most difficult cycle ever and did not receive a single denial. She ended up choosing between Harvard and Stanford Law Schools, where she was a splitter at both, and ultimately attended Stanford. We ask about law school life, reflect back on her success, and talk about what worked so well for her in admissions and how an applicant could replicate some of that success.

Release date: Monday, January 31

Podcast 2: What's Going On With "Ryan Reynolds?"

"Ryan" is a current applicant with a 177 LSAT and a 3.81 GPA who blanketed the top 20 and has yet to receive an admit. We'll talk about Ryan's application in respect to what we have seen this cycle in the applicant pool as a whole, and make some predictions going forward for both.

Release date: Late The Week of January 31

Podcast 3: Guest appearance on Break Into Law School with Sydney Montgomery

I will soon be a guest on Sydney Montgomery's podcast, Break Into Law School, where we will discuss some of the best and worst admissions stories from my time in admissions and at Spivey Consulting Group. Special topics to include scholarship negotiation and mental health and wellness. Stay tuned! Sydney Montgomery is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School, and through her firm S. Montgomery Admissions Consulting, she specializes in working with first-generation and minority college and law school applicants.

Release date: February 9

Podcast 4: Reddit AMA

The title says it all. Bring on your questions! I'll record and we will post the second week of February. Please know I can't speak directly about individual schools, but I can answer generally about all schools and try my best to navigate school-specific questions in a general way.

Release date:  Second Week of February

Podcast 5: Unwinding Anxiety with Dr. Judson Brewer

Dr. Judson Brewer, M.D., Ph.D. is perhaps our most distinguished guest to date. He is a psychiatrist, neuroscientist, and New York Times best-selling author who studies neural mechanisms using standard and real-time fMRI, and has translated research findings into programs to treat anxiety and addictions. He is the Director of Research and Innovation at Brown University's Mindfulness Center, an Associate Professor of Behavioral and Social Sciences in the Brown School of Public Health, and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown's Warren Alpert Medical School.

Release date: Mid-March

One last note: I recently wrote an article on Spivey Blog—"Starting A New Life." It's a brief fable for anyone who's looking to start law school soon or is going through another life transition. I hope you'll like it.
